Job summary

MEC is seeking an experienced Senior Mining Engineer to join our team in Western Australia. You will deliver high‑quality technical outcomes, mentor junior engineers, and help shape the future of our business and the mining industry.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Mining Engineering (or equivalent) recognised by Engineers Australia.
• 6+ years’ technical experience in open pit mining.
• Proficiency with at least one mining CAD package (Vulcan/Deswik/Surpac/Datamine).
• Scheduling experience with tools such as Alastri APS/ATS, Deswik, Evolution or Spry.
• Willingness to travel to site on FIFO or DIDO arrangements; current unrestricted working rights in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality technical outcomes and mentor junior engineers.
• Lead design and planning across open pit mining projects.
• Collaborate with the Manager and Principals on complex geotechnical questions.
• Rotate through a mix of short projects and longer term studies according to preference.
• Engage with clients to deliver practical solutions and support rapid professional development.
