Job summary

MEC is seeking an experienced Senior Mining Engineer in Perth, WA to deliver high-quality technical outcomes, mentor junior engineers, and help shape the future of our business. You will work across diverse projects for a broad client base, applying CAD packages and multi-disciplinary collaboration.

You will lead design and planning efforts, support studies, and grow your expertise in open pit mining with a consultancy that values adaptability and practical problem‑solving.

Qualifications

• 6+ years’ technical experience in open pit mining.
• Degree in Mining Engineering (or equivalent).
• Exposure to different open pit mining methods.
• Experience with mining CAD packages (Vulcan/Deswik/Surpac/Datamine).
• Willingness to travel to site (FIFO/DIDO).
• Current unrestricted working rights in Australia.
• Australian driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality technical outcomes for mining projects.
• Mentor junior engineers and support technical training.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across mining, geology, geotech and environment.
• Engage with a broad client base from junior developers to large mining organisations.
• Support feasibility studies, design and planning activities.
