Job summary

MEC Mining in Queensland is seeking a Senior Mining Engineer to join our open pit team on a FIFO basis. You will relish time on site and diversify your expertise across commodities.

Work on greenfield developments to established Tier 1 mine sites, with a project pipeline offering fresh technical challenges and the chance to contribute to international projects, including in South America.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mining Engineering (recognised in Australia).
• 6+ years’ site-based experience in open pit mining.
• Exposure to different open pit mining methods and approaches.
• Experience with Spry and Deswik (preferred).
• Current unrestricted working rights in Australia.
• Demonstrated expertise in two of: Drill & blast design, Mine design, Production scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to life-of-mine planning across greenfield and Tier 1 sites.
• Support open pit design and optimization across multiple projects.
• Collaborate with production and planning teams to meet targets.
• Liaise with clients and internal teams on project scopes and deliverables.
