Job summary

TSS Group is seeking an experienced Lead Mine Engineer to take ownership of mine planning, scheduling and technical activities for a large-scale open pit iron ore operation in Western Australia. This hands-on role requires delivering practical mine plans, pit designs and production schedules while also fulfilling Quarry Manager and SSE responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent.
• WA Quarry Manager Certificate of Competency is Essential.
• Site Senior Executive (SSE) qualification is Essential.
• Extensive experience leading open-pit mine planning and production schedules.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain short, medium and long-term mine plans and production schedules.
• Prepare pit designs, phase designs, haul road layouts and dump designs.
• Develop drill and blast designs and provide ongoing technical support to mining operations.
• Monitor mining performance, reconcile production against plan and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Optimise pit sequencing, mining methodologies and equipment utilisation to maximise productivity and resource recovery.
• Work closely with Operations, Geology, Survey and contractors to ensure mining activities are delivered in accordance with the mine plan.
• Prepare production forecasts, engineering reports and operational performance analysis.
• Provide technical guidance and support to site operational teams.
• Fulfil the statutory responsibilities of the WA Quarry Manager and Site Senior Executive (SSE).
• Ensure compliance with WA mining legislation, site standards and company procedures while promoting a strong safety culture.
