Job summary

PLS is seeking a Mining Engineer to lead short-term mine scheduling, mine design, and production reporting for our Pilbara operations. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver plans and analyses that optimise open-pit mining activity and safety compliance.

Responsibilities include producing daily/weekly reports, developing 36-hour plans, and engaging with geologists, surveyors and drill/blast teams to ensure schedules align with constraints and budgets.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent
• WA C class driver’s license
• 2–3 years experience in a similar mining engineering role
• Proficiency with Alastri, Vulcan or Surpac
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel/Docs)
• Basic proficiency in mine scheduling
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment

Responsibilities

• Develop the daily and 2 weekly mine plan and schedules
• Generate daily/weekly/monthly production reports
• Create work instructions for development projects
• Coordinate with Geology on dig directions
• Lead daily production and weekly planning meetings
• Enter production data into the mine production database
• Follow mine planning procedures and systems
• Collaborate with Drill and Blast on development and reviews
• Peer review of mine designs and schedules
• Provide mining software training and grade control management
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance in all mining activities
• Support cost control and investment recommendations
