Job summary

Thredbo Alpine Village is seeking an MTB Head Mechanic to lead the workshop and deliver exceptional guest service. You will oversee bike maintenance, stock control, supplier liaison, and event staging for Cannonball MTB Festival and related events.

You will collaborate with the MTB Operations Manager and MTB Business Manager, provide leadership, and stay current with MTB product knowledge to guide guest recommendations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of bicycle mechanic experience in a professional retail environment.
• Certificate III – Bicycle Workshop Operations or equivalent.
• Experience supervising others.
• Technical training in suspension and braking systems.
• Fox Technical Training – Basic Course.
• POS systems and inventory software proficiency.
• Strong communication and conflict resolution.

Responsibilities

• Develop connections to suppliers and the cycling industry to maximise profits.
• Stock control: manage stocktakes and maintain stock levels; reduce shrinkage.
• Maintain the entire rental bike fleet and schedule servicing.
• Record maintenance daily using Hubtiger for rental fleet servicing.
• Retail duties: assist customers, restock, monitor stock levels and MTB trends.
• Assist in staging Thredbo MTB events and festivals.
