Job summary

MACA is seeking a Senior Mining Engineer to join our mining team on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth. The role focuses on mine scheduling, planning, and ongoing development of mine plans, with emphasis on drill and blast optimisation and cost efficiency.

You will provide technical leadership, review contractor performance, and analyse operational data to identify continuous improvement opportunities, while maintaining safety and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
• Extensive experience in open pit mining operations, preferably contractor environment.
• Advanced mine planning and design software experience (Alastri, Vulcan).
• Proven experience in mine scheduling, drill and blast optimisation, and operational planning.
• Strong understanding of mining equipment capabilities and production improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead mine scheduling and short to medium-term planning to meet client requirements and production targets.
• Develop, review and optimise mine designs for accuracy and alignment with objectives.
• Provide technical oversight for contract administration, scope management and performance monitoring.
• Mentor and develop Mining Engineers and site personnel.
