Glencore’s Clermont Open Cut operation in Queensland is seeking an experienced Technical Services Superintendent (Mine Planning) to lead rolling medium-term mine plans and optimise designs for value and safety. The role requires strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration on site.

You will mentor the mine planning team, manage planning risks, and drive continuous improvement in a high-performing operation that produces significant coal annual targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mining or Civil Engineering is required.
• Extensive Open Cut mining experience with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
• S123 & G2 qualifications (desirable).
• Demonstrated experience leading a team to deliver high performance safely.
• Experience with Deswik and Spry software is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of rolling medium-term mine plans aligned with business objectives and production targets.
• Optimize mine designs, schedules, and resource utilisation to maximise value and efficiency.
• Collaborate with planning, geology, geotechnical, operations and commercial teams for integrated planning.
• Manage planning risks and provide forecast updates for informed decision-making.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the mine planning team and drive continuous improvement.
