Job summary

Glencore’s Newlands Closure Project seeks a Technical Services Superintendent to lead the Technical Services Team through planning, design and delivery for mine rehabilitation and closure. You will direct civil design, QA/QC, and cross-disciplinary coordination to align with approved closure outcomes.

The role requires senior PM skills, strong leadership, and the ability to drive safe, cost-effective delivery in a dynamic mining environment in Queensland, Australia.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Mining/Civil Eng or equivalent.
• Proven leadership to mentor multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience in mining, civil earthworks or rehabilitation projects.
• Strong knowledge of civil construction design and earthworks.
• Experience with construction QA/QC and design conformance.
• Project management: planning, scheduling, cost control, delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor Technical Services team across disciplines.
• Develop mid-term schedules, budgets and life-of-mine plans.
• Coordinate planning to align rehabilitation with operations.
• Oversee civil and rehabilitation design to ensure constructability and cost-effectiveness.
• Implement QA/QC, design reviews and handover documentation.
• Manage external consultants and contractors to meet milestones.
