Glencore Australia, Clermont Open Cut, seeks an experienced Technical Services Superintendent (Mine Planning) to lead medium-term mine planning and optimise designs for maximum value and efficiency. You will drive planning across geology, geotechnical, operations and commercial teams on site.

You will mentor the planning team, manage risks, and ensure safe, high-performance outcomes while delivering on production targets and continuous improvement.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering or Civil Engineering.
• Extensive Open Cut mining experience with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
• Contractor Management experience.
• Strong communication skills.
• Experience leading a team and making decisions based on technical expertise.
• Experience with Deswik and Spry software is a plus.
• QLD Drivers Licence.
• S123 & G2 qualifications are desirable.

Clermont Open Cut, a Glencore Operation, is currently seeking an experienced Technical Services Superintendent (Mine Planning) to join and support our team of technical professionals on site. Located on the western edge of the Bowen Basin, Clermont Open Cut is a high performing truck & shovel operation that produces 12 million tonnes of coal per annum. Clermont Open Cut Operation is a safe and inclusive workplace focused on delivering high performance outcomes. Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, this role will offer variety and opportunity to the right individual.

In this role your core responsibilities will be:

• Lead the development and delivery of rolling medium-term mine plans aligned with business objectives and production targets.
• Optimise mine designs, schedules, and resource utilisation to maximise value, productivity, and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with mine planning, geology, geotechnical, operations, and commercial teams to ensure integrated planning outcomes.
• Manage planning risks, monitor plan compliance, and provide forecast updates to support informed decision‑making.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the mine planning team while driving continuous improvement and planning excellence.

Requirements for the role include:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering or Civil Engineering
• Extensive Open Cut mining experience with demonstrated leadership capabilities
• S123 & G2 qualifications (desirable)
• Demonstrated experience in leading a team to deliver high performance outcomes safely
• Contractor Management experience
• Strong communication skills
• A proven ability to lead and influence a team and make decisions based on your technical expertise
• Experience with Deswik and Spry software packages will be highly regarded
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
• QLD Drivers Licence

This role requires a safety conscious candidate prepared to challenge the norm, drive continuous improvement and who can demonstrate experience in implementing best practice using a hands-on approach.
