Job summary

Hunter New England Local Health District is seeking a compassionate Midwifery Unit Manager (MUM) to lead the Maitland Hospital maternity services. This brand-new leadership role focuses on shaping MAPS care and overseeing outpatient clinics including MAPS, Gynaecology and EPAS, with emphasis on staff welfare and rostering.

You will mentor junior staff, triage referrals, support complex cases, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver personalised care plans for every patient.

Qualifications

• Hold current registration as a Registered Midwife with Authority to Practice with AHPRA.
• Experience in management or relevant leadership qualification.

Responsibilities

• Lead obstetric and gynaecology outpatient services (MAPS, Gynaecology, EPAS).
• Manage rosters and staff welfare.
• Mentor junior staff and support complex cases.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary team delivering individualised care plans.
