Job summary

Anglo American’s Dawson Mine in Queensland seeks a Maintenance Superintendent: Engineering MEM to lead mechanical engineering strategy and statutory responsibilities on a 6-month fixed-term basis. You will report to the Engineering & Maintenance Manager and drive safe, reliable, and cost-effective equipment performance across the site.

The role covers lifecycle planning, life-of-mine input, CAPEX governance, and maintenance procedures.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or related discipline with MEM considerations.
• Practising Certificate for Mechanical MEM is desirable/required.
• Experience leading mechanical engineering teams on mine sites (coal preferred).
• Experience with RCA methodology.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and deployment of strategic mechanical engineering initiatives.
• Act as Statutory Mechanical Engineer for the site, ensuring compliance with SHMS obligations and legislation.
• Represent the mechanical discipline in strategic planning sessions (LOM, risk assessments).
• Approve mechanical inputs into LOM strategies and risk-based maintenance plans.
• Provide leadership for mechanical contributions to capital planning and asset forecasts.
• Govern the implementation of mechanical maintenance procedures and lifecycle management.
• Lead mechanical engineering input into performance reporting and RCA reviews.
