Job summary

Anglo American at Dawson Mine near Moura seeks a Maintenance Superintendent: Engineering MEM for a 6-month fixed-term assignment. You will report to the Engineering & Maintenance Manager and oversee MEM statutory responsibilities and maintenance engineering across the open-cut operation.

You will lead strategic mechanical engineering initiatives, ensure SHMS and regulatory compliance, and contribute to long-term asset strategies, capital planning, and safe, cost-effective equipment performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and deployment of strategic mechanical engineering initiatives in alignment with the Engineering and Maintenance Strategy.
• Act as the Statutory Mechanical Engineer for the site, ensuring compliance with SHMS obligations, Recognised Standards, and legislation.
• Represent the mechanical discipline in strategic planning sessions, including Life of Mine planning, department BARA reviews, and risk assessments.
• Approve mechanical inputs into LOM equipment strategies, asset capability assessments, and risk-based maintenance plans.
• Provide leadership and oversight for mechanical contributions to capital planning and long-term asset forecasts.
• Approve mechanical engineering specifications and ensure mechanical designs meet Dawson and legislative requirements.
