Dawson Mine, located near Moura, is only a 2-hour drive from Rockhampton & Gladstone. It is a large and dynamic open cut steelmaking coal mine operation made up of two operating pits - Central and South. It commenced operations in 1961 and is one of the oldest coal mining operations in Central Queensland with no signs of slowing down. Dawson Mine is rich in history, it was the first mine in Australia to export coal to Japan in 1961 and was the first mine to introduce draglines into its operation in 1963 – join the legacy today!
We are seeking a Maintenance Superintendent: Engineering MEM to join the maintenance leadership team at Dawson Mine on a 6-month fixed term basis with Anglo American. Reporting to the Engineering & Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible Maintenance & Engineering Management (MEM) statutory responsibilities for the open-cut coal mine. You will also lead the development and optimisation of maintenance strategies, specifications, and engineering standards to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective equipment performance across the site.
As the Senior Mechanical Engineer: MEM, the key accountabilities are:
