Onyx Precast Systems – Precast Concrete Manufacturer in Wyong (Central Coast) & new Jilliby facility – seeks a Senior Automation Engineer to own design, integration and industrialisation of robotic end-effectors and tooling. You will integrate PLC subsystems, design the SCADA layer, and collaborate across teams to scale a 15-tonne automated system.

Qualifications

• Hands-on PLC integration and commissioning experience.
• SCADA system design and integration experience.
• 5+ years in automation/mechatronics/electrical engineering (manufacturing or materials-handling preferred).
• Value-engineering mindset to improve reliability and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of iterative design, optimisation and industrialisation of robotic end-effectors and tooling.
• Integrate PLC-based subsystems into the broader architecture.
• Design and integrate the SCADA layer for monitoring, control and data acquisition across the plant.
• Co-design a 15-tonne automated vertical storage and lifting system with engineers and external fabricators.
• Integrate and commission the AGV fleet into the production flow.
• Value-engineer aspects of automation for reliability, cycle time, cost.
• Collaborate with in-house and third-party teams and CEO who writes software.
