Job summary

Robotine, a Brisbane-based applied robotics company, is moving the Cabinet Assembler from development toward field validation and customer installation. The role focuses on PLC control, motion, robotics integration and safety in a small team driving practical automation for small manufacturers.

You will own controls architecture, codebase, and testing across workshop and site implementations, contributing to a product going to market from a Brisbane workspace.

Qualifications

• A degree in mechatronics, electrical or control engineering, or equivalent.
• 7+ years designing, programming and commissioning automated machines or robot cells.
• Strong PLC and motion control experience; TwinCAT 3 and EtherCAT preferred.
• Hands-on integration of industrial or collaborative robots; safety knowledge per AU standards.

Responsibilities

• Beckhoff CX-series PLC running TwinCAT 3 as the cell master and sequencing subsystems.
• Integrate EtherCAT servo and stepper axes with motion profiling.
• Develop a six-axis collaborative robot system with its own controller and grippers.
• Design and document electrical systems, power distribution and safety architecture.
• Build and test operator HMI for single-operator control from job data.
• Commission in workshop, support field installation and FA testing.
• Define machine logs for remote fault diagnosis and uptime metrics.
