Job summary

Freelance Robotics Pty Ltd in Redland Bay, QLD, is seeking a Robotic Systems Engineer to join the team. This permanent, full-time role focuses on design, development, integration and deployment of robotic and automated systems for industrial applications.

You will engage across the full lifecycle from concept to handover, combining mechanical engineering with robotics, automation, controls and system integration.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Robotics, Automation or related field.
• Hands-on capability in mechanical design and 3D CAD.
• Experience with robotic systems and automation integration.
• Ability to travel to customer sites.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work across mechanical, electrical and software disciplines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical equipment, robotic systems, machines, assemblies and automation solutions; produce CAD models, drawings and BOMs.
• Develop concepts and layouts for robotic cells and automated equipment; specify components and actuators.
• Design and integrate guarding, fixtures, tooling and robot end effectors; work with suppliers through fabrication and assembly.
• Integrate industrial robots, vision, safety systems, PLCs, HMIs, drives and communications; test interfaces.
