Job summary

Aurecon is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our NSW team, based from Sydney, Newcastle or Canberra. You will lead the mechanical design and delivery of water infrastructure projects, and provide technical oversight of pumps, valves, pipelines and treatment assets.

You will mentor junior engineers, develop client relationships, contribute to bids, and collaborate with interstate teams to deliver integrated, high‑quality solutions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in mechanical engineering
• Strong water infrastructure background
• Pumps, valves and mechanical systems
• Treatment and supply infrastructure
• Experience in consulting or project delivery
• Proven ability to lead or mentor engineers
• Experience on multidisciplinary projects

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design and delivery of water infrastructure projects
• Provide technical oversight across pumps, valves, pipelines and treatment assets
• Support projects across the full lifecycle from planning to delivery
• Mentor and develop junior and mid-level engineers
• Work closely with clients and build trusted relationships
• Contribute to bids, proposals and business development
• Collaborate across interstate teams to deliver integrated solutions
• Drive technical excellence and improve delivery standards
