Job summary

DRA Global in Perth is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to deliver practical, safe and efficient mechanical engineering solutions from concept through detailed design and commissioning.

You will lead the detailed design of mechanical systems such as conveyors, crushers, mills and pumps, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and support site activities through construction, commissioning and operations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Engineers Australia or equivalent).
• 10+ years of experience in mineral processing or mining projects (design & construct).
• Strong knowledge of Australian standards and industry codes.
• Working rights in Australia.
• Experience with base metals and/or rare earth minerals.
• Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the detailed design of mechanical systems including conveyors, crushers, mills, pumps and material handling systems.
• Develop engineering drawings, specifications and calculations, ensuring accuracy and quality.
• Perform mechanical analysis using software to optimise safety, reliability and cost.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical design into project delivery.
• Engage with stakeholders to define requirements and present fit-for-purpose solutions.
• Review vendor documentation and support procurement, bid evaluations and vendor selection.
• Ensure compliance with Australian standards and industry codes.
• Identify and manage technical risks and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Provide site support across construction, commissioning and operations as required.
