Job summary

Davies Stewart is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead end-to-end design, validation, and delivery of specialised mechanical systems for mining and industrial applications from Adelaide, SA. You will work across sales, engineering, and operations to ensure technically compliant, robust solutions.

The role requires 7+ years in mechanical design, proficiency in SolidWorks, and capability in FEA/CFD simulations, with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and ISO 9001.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 7+ years of professional mechanical design experience.
• Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD; capable of FEA & CFD simulations.
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes, DFM principles, and AS/ISO standards (ISO 9001).
• Comfortable communicating with mining clients and presenting tailored technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with sales teams and clients to gather design requirements, review feasibility, and generate specifications, drawings, and datasheets.
• Prepare project-specific engineering documentation including BOMs, detailed drawings, part specs, and engineering change notices.
• Conduct structural, fluid flow, and pressure analyses; perform FEA/CFD to optimise designs for harsh environments.
• Participate in PPI projects, kaizen events, and RCCM 5-Whys problem-solving initiatives.
• Adhere to OHS policies and SQDC culture across daily operations.
