Job summary

Roc Consulting in Victoria is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the mechanical design and documentation of commercial HVAC and services projects. You will produce and review drawings and specs, collaborating with managers, draftspersons and contractors.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, hands-on experience with AutoCAD/Revit, and a strong knowledge of Australian standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer within commercial HVAC or mechanical services.
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, hydraulics and mechanical services design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit or similar design software.
• Experience producing and reviewing engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Solid understanding of Australian Standards and relevant compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design and documentation of commercial HVAC and mechanical services projects.
• Produce and review detailed engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with project managers, draftspersons and contractors across all stages of design and delivery.
• Ensure all designs comply with Australian Standards, project specifications and company procedures.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and drafting staff.
• Identify and resolve design issues, coordination clashes and technical challenges.
• Contribute to continuous improvement across design processes, systems and standards.
• Support project delivery, installation coordination and commissioning requirements.

• Lead the mechanical design and documentation of commercial HVAC and mechanical services projects.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

To be considered it is vital that you have the following:

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer within commercial HVAC or mechanical services
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, hydraulics and mechanical services design
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit or similar design software
• Experience producing and reviewing engineering drawings and technical documentation
• Solid understanding of Australian Standards and relevant compliance requirements
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage competing project deadlines
• Strong communication skills, comfortable liaising across all levels of a project team
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
