Job summary

ProFound People in Sydney seeks a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (HVAC) to lead mechanical design on diverse projects. You will develop HVAC solutions from concept to detailed design, supported by site investigations and coordination with architects and contractors.

The role requires a minimum of five years in mechanical design, a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and strong knowledge of HVAC systems and commissioning. This is a permanent, on-site position based in Sydney.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in a similar Mechanical Design Engineering position.
• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and mechanical services.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking mechanical design and producing detailed engineering documentation with a strong focus on HVAC systems.
• Conducting site investigations and assessing existing mechanical and HVAC systems.
• Developing mechanical and HVAC solutions from concept through to detailed design.
• Preparing technical specifications, drawings and engineering reports.
• Working closely with architects, engineers, contractors and other project stakeholders.
• Providing engineering support throughout the construction phase.
• Reviewing drawings, technical documentation and contractor submissions.
• Attending project sites to monitor installation and resolve technical issues.
• Managing testing, balancing, commissioning and handover of HVAC systems.
• Ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with relevant standards and specifications.
• Working in a multi-disciplinary team across a variety of projects.

SALARY - $130,000 - $150,000 per annum, dependent on experience

TYPE – Permanent

LOCATION – Sydney, NSW

My client is an established engineering business delivering specialist HVAC and mechanical engineering solutions across a range of projects. They are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with strong experience in HVAC to join their team in Sydney on a permanent basis.

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

• At least 5 years of experience in a similar Mechanical Design Engineering position
• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
• Strong mechanical engineering and design skills
• Previous experience working with HVAC systems and mechanical services
• Strong experience with mechanical HVAC design and engineering
• Previous experience working across commercial, industrial or building services projects
• Experience conducting site investigations and assessing existing HVAC systems
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, equipment and mechanical services
• Good understanding of relevant Australian standards, regulations and building codes
• Experience working with contractors and construction teams
• Strong practical understanding of HVAC installation, testing and commissioning
• Able to manage projects and work to deadlines and budgets
• Able to work well individually as well as part of a team
