Job summary

CGC Recruitment partnered building services consultancy in Sydney seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead HVAC design across diverse projects. You’ll own design delivery, interact directly with clients and influence project outcomes from concept to completion.

Depending on experience, the role may include project leadership, client management, mentoring, and broader responsibility within the mechanical team, with progression toward Principal-level leadership.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ Mechanical/HVAC Building Services experience.
• Experience within an engineering consultancy environment.
• Strong HVAC design and technical capability.
• Knowledge of Australian Standards, NCC and building codes.
• Experience across commercial, residential, education, healthcare or other building projects.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to own projects and work within a multidisciplinary team.

• Design and deliver mechanical/HVAC building services systems.
• Undertake HVAC calculations, equipment selections and system design.
• Prepare specifications, reports and technical documentation.
• Coordinate mechanical services with electrical, hydraulic, fire, structural and architectural disciplines.
• Attend design meetings and liaise directly with clients, architects and contractors.
• Manage project deliverables, programmes and budgets.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.
• At Principal level, take greater responsibility for technical leadership, clients and project delivery.

Job description

An established and growing building services consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Mechanical Engineer, with Principal-level Engineers also encouraged to apply.

This is an opportunity to join a collaborative Sydney team where you’ll have genuine ownership of projects, direct exposure to clients and the ability to play an influential role in the continued growth of the mechanical discipline.

The Opportunity

Working across a diverse portfolio of building projects, you’ll be responsible for the design and delivery of mechanical/HVAC services from concept through to completion.

Depending on your experience, the position can also incorporate project leadership, client management, technical mentoring and a broader role in developing the mechanical team.

We’re looking for candidates with:
