Job summary

Sedgman Pty Limited seeks an experienced Lead Materials Handling Engineer for our Perth office. You will lead an established team to design and optimize materials handling solutions, spanning concept through to operations on varied domestic and international projects.

Ideal candidates hold a mechanical engineering degree with 10+ years’ experience in design, commissioning, and onsite operations, and have strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in project design, commissioning and onsite operations.
• Experience with materials handling equipment (conveyors, crushing, screening, storage, milling).
• Site-based commissioning and operations experience desired.
• CPEng or Chartered status advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead an experienced materials handling team to provide innovative designs.
• Work across domestic and international projects through the project lifecycle.
• Define design methods, specs and performance requirements for new projects.
• Prepare feasibility studies, surveys, design layouts, BOQ and cost estimates; support procurement.
• Manage mechanical discipline budget and schedule across project phases.
• Conduct site inspections and liaise with suppliers, clients and commissioning engineers.
• Provide engineering support to installation, construction and commissioning teams.
