Job summary

MLEI Group is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer in Brisbane to own projects from concept through to detailed design and construction support. The role emphasizes leadership within a collaborative, technically strong team in Australia.

The successful candidate will deliver designs, verifications, calculations, and reports, lead project delivery, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring client satisfaction and high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural Engineering is required.
• 8+ years local maritime/marine/structural design experience.
• RPEQ and a CPEng are highly desirable.
• Proficiency in design software SpaceGass, Optimoor and Strand7.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and NCC requirements.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to develop project scope of works and proposals.
• Demonstrated experience leading project teams.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engineering designs, design verifications, calculations, technical reports and specifications for projects.
• Assist with preparation of tenders and proposals.
• Lead and manage projects to a very high standard ensuring client expectations and project deliverables are achieved.
• Contribute to technical excellence and innovation within the team.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers.
