Job summary

MLEI Group in Adelaide is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to take ownership of projects from concept through to detailed design and construction support within a collaborative, technically strong team. You will lead project lifecycles, manage client relationships and guide junior engineers while delivering safe, cost‑effective outcomes aligned with Australian Standards and NCC requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (minimum).
• Pro registration (NER); Chartered or RPEQ highly regarded or working toward.
• 6–10 years' local structural design experience in buildings.
• Proven project delivery and client-facing track record.
• Proficiency in ETABS, SpaceGass and RAM; BIM coordination is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and NCC requirements.
• Experience leading project teams and understanding lateral stability, earthquake and wind设计.
• Excellent communication, teamwork and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to develop project scopes and proposals.

About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to take ownership of projects from concept through to detailed design and construction support, while building a leadership profile within a collaborative, technically strong team.

This position is responsible for:

Lead project lifecycles from concept through to detailed design and construction support, ensuring outcomes are safe, cost-effective, and compliant

Manage, maintain and grow trusted relationships with clients and project partners

Contribute to technical excellence and innovation within the team

Mentor and guide junior engineers

Working closely with colleagues across the business, you will provide professional expertise, practical solutions and trusted support that helps our teams achieve outstanding outcomes. There's a genuine path to take on greater project and people leadership as our Adelaide team continues to grow.

About You

You're an experienced structural engineer who combines strong technical judgement with the ability to build lasting client relationships and develop the people around you. You're comfortable owning a project end-to-end and confident bringing new ideas to the table.

What you bring

To contribute confidently in this role, you will bring

Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (minimum)

Professional Engineer registration (NER); Chartered status or RPEQ highly regarded, or genuinely working towards

6-10 years' local structural design experience within the building sector

Proven track record in project delivery and client-facing roles

Proficiency in ETABS, SpaceGass and RAM (Revit/BIM coordination experience well regarded)

Strong understanding of Australian Standards and NCC requirements

Demonstrated experience leading project teams

Strong understanding of lateral stability design of large buildings, including earthquake requirements and wind loading

Excellent communication, teamwork, and stakeholder management skills

The ability to develop project scope of works and proposals
