Job summary

INPEX Australia is seeking a Senior Marine Advisor to join our Logistics team in Perth in a permanent position. You will provide senior marine advice across operations, logistics, projects and maintenance, acting as a technical authority and ensuring safe, compliant marine operations.

Qualifications

  • Master (Unlimited) or Chief Engineer with Oil & Gas endorsement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide senior marine technical, operational and assurance advice across Operations, Logistics, Projects, Drilling and Maintenance.
  • Act as marine Subject Matter Expert and provide Technical Authority support.
  • Support the development, review and continuous improvement of marine standards, procedures, work instructions and assurance programs.
  • Plan and undertake vessel reviews, contractor assessments, audits and operational readiness reviews against regulatory, classification and industry requirements.
  • Provide technical support for terminal, port, offshore and marine production operations, including pilotage, offtake support and marine logistics.
  • Advise on drilling support, rig mobilisation, sea towage, rig shifts, construction, subsea, survey, seismic, maintenance and repair activities.
  • Support the mobilisation, assurance and safe operation of specialist vessels and accommodation support vessels.
  • Provide marine input to HAZIDs, risk assessments, HSEQ management plans, safety cases, incident investigations and emergency response preparedness.
  • Provide technical input to contractor prequalification, tenders, evaluations, contract award, mobilisation and ongoing performance reviews.
  • Build effective relationships with internal teams, contractors, port authorities, regulators, classification societies and industry bodies.
  • Monitor marine safety, reliability and operational performance, identify emerging risks and provide clear, evidence-based recommendations.

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Marine Advisor to join our INPEX Logistics team in Perth in a permanent position. Join us in helping shape a brighter energy future.

Qualifications
  • Master (Unlimited) or Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency with Oil & Gas endorsement. CoC endorsement is desirable.
  • Extensive offshore marine operations experience, ideally across production support, supply, anchor handling, construction, subsea or dynamic positioning operations.
  • Strong knowledge of IMO conventions, applicable marine legislation, classification society requirements and marine warranty requirements.
  • Working knowledge of recognised industry guidance, including SIGTTO, OCIMF, GOMO, IMCA and Nautical Institute guidance.
  • Strong technical judgement, analytical capability and the ability to translate complex requirements into practical, risk‑based advice.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder‑management skills, with the ability to work across multiple disciplines and competing priorities.
Required Skills

This role is for applicants residing in or willing to relocate to Perth.
