Job summary

Westpac Group is seeking a Senior Manager, Business Controls & Monitoring (BCM) in Sydney. The role blends risk and change leadership with a focus on Financial Crime, Non-Financial Risk and major change initiatives. Hybrid work is available with two days in office.

You will partner with senior stakeholders across Risk, Change and delivery teams, guiding risk discussions, identifying dependencies, and shaping risk-informed decisions throughout the change lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Extensive risk/change experience in a regulated environment.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills.
• Ability to analyse complex information and draw clear insights.
• Sound judgement to balance risk with delivery and customer considerations.
• Experience partnering with Risk, Change and delivery teams at senior levels.
• Exposure to Financial Crime/Non-Financial Risk is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Partner across the change lifecycle from business case development to build, testing and implementation.
• Lead and facilitate risk conversations and workshops to uncover emerging risks.
• Analyse information across change initiatives to identify themes and implications.
• Build trusted relationships with Line 1 and Line 2 Risk and Compliance specialists.
• Support delivery of strategic data assets and risk capabilities across Risk Division.
• Escalate and present risk information through governance forums.
• Contribute insights to Risk in Change reporting and practices.
