Job summary

Westpac Group in Sydney invites an accomplished executive to serve as Head of Business Controls and Monitoring, Home Lending. You will lead the First Line Risk agenda for one of Australia’s largest home lending businesses and help shape risk management, controls and remediation across the delivery unit.

You will partner with senior leaders in Risk, Compliance and Legal to set strategic direction, drive accountability, and lead a high-performing team of about 30 people to deliver strong customer

Qualifications

• Significant leadership experience in a First Line Risk function within banking/financial services, preferably in home lending/mortgage.
• Proven ability to influence executive stakeholders and drive risk ownership across the business.
• Experience building high-performing teams and embedding risk culture and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the First Line Risk agenda for Home Lending delivery, including controls, monitoring and remediation across end-to-end processes.
• Set strategic direction for risk, governance and remediation; ensure regulatory obligations are embedded in operations.
• Partner with senior leaders across Risk, Compliance and Legal to identify emerging risks and drive sustainable uplift.
• Lead a high-performing team of ~30 people and influence executive decision making in Home Lending.
