Job summary

De Beers Group in Moranbah North Mine seeks a highly experienced Longwall Superintendent to lead the longwall function, drive safety and ensure reliable production. You will coordinate people, equipment and priorities while partnering with maintenance, engineering and technical services teams.

This senior role requires proven underground coal mining leadership, strong longwall knowledge and the ability to influence safety, reliability and performance in a major operation.

Qualifications

• Extensive operational leadership experience within underground coal mining.
• Strong longwall production knowledge and safety leadership.
• Experience managing large operational teams and coordinating across functions.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible safety leadership across all longwall activities
• Lead longwall production teams to achieve safety, production and operational objectives
• Coordinate daily and weekly priorities across production, maintenance and technical functions
• Monitor longwall performance and respond to changing conditions and risks
• Ensure operations comply with legislation and site safety standards
• Lead application and review of TARPs and risk assessments
• Support longwall planning, panel readiness and safe production activities
• Review production performance, equipment availability and shift reporting
• Collaborate with Underground Mine Manager and engineers
• Coach leaders and drive continuous improvement in safety and productivity
• Foster workforce engagement and accountability
