Job summary

Centurion, owned and operated by Peabody Energy, Inc., seeks a Development Superintendent to lead underground development operations and drive the long-term restart planning for 2026.

You will oversee multiple continuous miner sections, ensure safe, efficient execution, and collaborate with Tech Services, Ventilation and Maintenance to optimize cycles and equipment reliability. A strong leader with proven meters performance is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in underground coal development.
• QLD Statutory Supervisor qualifications S1/S2/S3 and G2 required.
• Second Class or First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate highly regarded.
• Strong leadership with the ability to manage multiple crews.
• Experience with gas drainage and complex strata environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead development crews and strategy for long-term mine prep.
• Ensure safe, efficient execution of development operations meeting milestones.
• Collaborate with Tech Services, Ventilation and Maintenance teams.
• Drive metre targets while maintaining zero harm standards.
• Mentor and upskill a diverse workforce across development crews.
