Job summary

Anglo American in Moranbah North is seeking an Underground Geology & Geotechnical Superintendent. The role leads Geotechnical Engineers and Geologists, guiding data collection, analysis, risk assessments and strata management for a safe, efficient underground operation.

You will deliver strategic advice to Technical Services and Operations, drive improvement projects and ensure resources are allocated for timely delivery.

Qualifications

• This role requires tertiary qualifications in Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, Mining Engineering or related field.
• RPEQ registration is desirable for this position.
• Experience in underground coal mining is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Geotechnical Engineers and Geologists.
• Coordinate collection, analysis and evaluation of geotechnical data and risk assessments.
• Uphold high strata management standards in line with OPSMS.
• Provide strategic geotechnical advice to Technical Services and Operations teams.
• Lead mine-site improvement projects and ensure timely, resourced implementation.
