Job summary

UNSW Canberra invites applications for a Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor in Stratospheric Physics to join the School of Science. The role includes leading the Balloon Launching Station at Alice Springs and collaborating with CSIRO, NASA and international partners.

You will contribute to both research and teaching, develop curricula, supervise students, publish extensively, and secure research funding.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent professional experience in a relevant discipline.
• Expertise in atmospheric physics, electronics or stratospheric ballooning.
• Commitment to keeping disciplinary knowledge up to date.
• Ability to contribute to teaching and research activities.
• Experience with large-scale projects, contracts and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Combine research and teaching responsibilities and contribute to curriculum delivery.
• Lead publications and supervise graduate students.
• Secure research funding and foster collaborations.
• Lead the Balloon Launching Station operations with external partners.
