Job summary

Curtin University is seeking a part-time Senior Lecturer in Aboriginal Health to lead curriculum development and oversee clinical placements with a focus on culturally safe care. You will collaborate closely with the Aboriginal Health Team and key academics to integrate pathways and engagement activities with teaching and curriculum.

You will shape assessments, lead in curriculum development for Aboriginal health, and champion cultural safety across the medical program to support Curtin medical

Qualifications

• Tertiary health-related degree with post graduate qualifications.
• Extensive experience in health care and/or medical education with Aboriginal health focus.
• Commitment to cultural safety and high-quality care/education.
• Experience supporting Indigenous Australian medical workforce.
• Ability to advise on cross-cultural issues and build staff capability.
• Knowledge of equity, inclusion and belonging in Aboriginal health context.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Contribute to curriculum development and assessment strategies.
• Research experience and contribution to Aboriginal health evidence.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to curriculum, assessment, and clinical placements with emphasis on Aboriginal health.
• Support cultural orientation and safety initiatives within the Discipline.
• Participate in teaching activities for medical students, providing mentorship.
• Assist in MBBS admission processes, including Equity Pathway.
• Provide mentoring and support for Aboriginal medical students.
• Engage in research and evaluation activities.
• Support Director of Aboriginal Health to integrate Aboriginal knowledge and safety across the curriculum.
