Job summary

EOS Space Systems in Australia is seeking a Senior Laser Scientist or Engineer to join our R&D team, focusing on laser design, assembly, alignment, testing and maintenance of high energy laser subsystems for space and ground applications.

You will collaborate with electronics, software, and mechanical engineers, document technical work, report progress to leadership, and contribute to EOS IP through innovative concepts.

Qualifications

• Lead laser design, assembly, alignment, testing and maintenance.
• Write technical documentation and report on progress.
• Collaborate with electronics, software and mechanical teams to define system requirements.
• Mentor staff to raise group capability.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development of laser subsystems for high energy laser applications.
• Design components, specify optics, assemble and optically align systems.
• Work with cross-disciplinary teams to meet system requirements.
• Contribute to instrumentation of opto-electronics subsystems.
• Document investigative experiments and communicate results to management.
• Share skills with colleagues to improve group proficiency.
