Job summary

Logicalis Australia is seeking an experienced Senior L3 Systems Engineer to join a global operator of mission-critical digital infrastructure. This role focuses on advanced operational support, incident management and continual service improvement across a modern enterprise stack in Sydney or Melbourne.

You will lead major incident response, drive automation, and work with vendors and project teams to deliver resilient services in highly available environments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Systems/Infrastructure Engineering experience.
• Strong VMware administration and troubleshooting capability.
• Hands-on experience supporting NetApp storage environments.
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale server and infrastructure platforms.
• Proven success operating as an L3 escalation point.
• Strong incident management and root cause analysis skills.
• Experience supporting highly available and business-critical environments.
• Exposure to enterprise monitoring, automation and infrastructure management tools.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience mentoring L1/L2 support teams.
• Current NV1 Security Clearance (desirable)
• Australian Citizenship (mandatory) / eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Level 3 escalation point for critical infrastructure incidents.
• Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis and service restoration for Priority 1 and Priority 2 incidents.
• Support large-scale VMware and enterprise infrastructure environments.
• Administer and optimise compute, storage, backup and identity platforms.
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call roster supporting mission-critical services.
• Maintain infrastructure security through patching, remediation and hardening activities.
• Support infrastructure lifecycle management including upgrades, migrations and technology refresh initiatives.
• Drive automation, monitoring and operational improvement initiatives.
• Produce high-quality technical documentation, standards and operational runbooks.
• Work closely with vendors, project teams and operational stakeholders to deliver resilient infrastructure services.
