Job summary

Challenger Services Group in Melbourne CBD is seeking a Kitchen Stewarding Supervisor to lead a high‑volume, premium hotel kitchen. You’ll manage the stewarding shift, rosters and training to ensure chefs have clean equipment and spaces.

You will own hygiene standards, HACCP and WHS compliance, and oversee dishwashing equipment and storerooms, setting the standard for your team and driving service excellence.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in a high‑volume kitchen or hotel setting.
• Strong knowledge of food safety (HACCP) and WHS.
• Ability to lead, train and coach a team under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Supervising and supporting the stewarding team’s daily operations, leading each shift to deliver a high standard of service to the chefs and kitchen team.
• Managing rosters, delegating duties and completing key administration tasks to keep the team running smoothly.
• Training new team members and coaching the team to uphold high standards of service, hygiene and safety.
• Ensuring cleanliness and hygiene across all kitchen areas, including dishwashing, back‑of‑house and storage areas.
• Maintaining compliance with HACCP and WHS requirements, including safe work practices and prompt reporting of hazards.
• Overseeing the upkeep of dishwashing machines, equipment and tools, and following up faults or breakages quickly.
• Keeping kitchen storerooms organised and well stocked so the chefs and team have what they need, when they need it.
• Using and managing cleaning products safely and effectively, including correct chemical handling by the whole team.
