Job summary

Challenger Services Group is seeking enthusiastic Part-Time Kitchen Stewards to join our hospitality team in Sydney CBD. You will help keep premium kitchens clean, safe, and well-organised while supporting chefs and kitchen staff.

Flexible daytime or overnight shifts are available, with competitive hourly rates and staff benefits. Prior kitchen or stewarding experience is preferred, and a Food Handler Basics Certificate is suggested but not required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
• Strong attention to cleanliness and presentation.
• Understanding safe manual handling and chemical handling practices.

Responsibilities

• Support the daily operation of busy commercial kitchens.
• Operate dishwashers and kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen environment.
• Clean and store kitchen equipment, crockery and utensils.
• Prepare equipment for functions and events.
• Assist chefs with general kitchen duties as required.
• Follow food safety and HACCP procedures at all times.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Kitchen Steward, you'll be responsible for:

• Supporting the daily operation of busy commercial kitchens.
• Operating commercial dishwashers and kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintaining a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen environment.
• Cleaning and storing kitchen equipment, crockery and utensils.
• Preparing equipment for functions and events.
• Assisting chefs with general kitchen duties as required.
• Following food safety, HACCP, workplace safety and company procedures at all times.

About you

You’ll be someone who:

• Enjoys working in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
• Takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
• Has previous experience in a commercial kitchen or stewarding role.
• Understands safe manual handling, food safety and chemical handling practices.
• Is reliable, punctual and enjoys working as part of a team.
• Holds a Food Handler Basics Certificate (preferred but not essential).
