Job summary

Fivecast in Adelaide is seeking a Senior IT Systems Engineer to own the Jamf Pro environment and act as the SME for macOS. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys owning platforms, solving complex problems, and mentoring others.

You will be the senior Apple voice in the IT team, take tough tickets, design solutions from business requirements, automate deployments, and collaborate with InfoSec to ensure security and compliance across the Apple fleet.

Qualifications

• Based in Adelaide, South Australia
• Australian Citizen (required) and able to obtain and maintain an Australian Government security clearance
• 4-7 years' experience in IT support or systems administration
• Strong hands-on experience with Jamf Pro, Apple Business Manager and macOS
• Demonstrated ability to scope and design a solution from a business requirement, and produce a workable project plan
• Scripting ability in Bash and/or Python
• Solid understanding of Microsoft Entra ID and Exchange Online
• Confident working autonomously and leading technical problem resolution
• Clear communicator who can explain technical decisions to non-technical colleagues

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the Jamf Pro environment and act as the SME for macOS
• Act as the L2/L3 escalation point for the IT support queue, take on escalated tickets, resolve complex incidents, and perform root cause analysis
• Plan, design and implement system improvements: gather requirements, write a project plan, design the solution, and deliver it end to end
• Manage zero touch deployment, configuration profiles, policies, app packaging and patch management across the Apple fleet
• Develop scripts (Bash/Python) to automate deployment, configuration, remediation and reporting
• Work with the InfoSec team to assess, design and maintain IT solutions that meet organisational security and compliance standards
• Provide support for Microsoft 365, particularly Entra ID and Exchange Online
• Maintain clear technical documentation and runbooks, and uplift the wider support team's Apple capability
• Mentor junior IT staff and contribute to team planning and continuous improvement
