Job summary

Fivecast is seeking a Senior IT Support Engineer based in Adelaide to own the Jamf Pro environment and lead macOS initiatives. You will resolve escalations, design end-to-end solutions, and automate deployments while partnering with InfoSec and Microsoft 365 teams.

You will mentor junior staff, uplift Apple capability across the team, and contribute to continuous improvement in a scaling environment.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years' experience in IT support or systems administration.
• Strong hands-on experience with Jamf Pro, Apple Business Manager and macOS.
• Ability to scope and design a solution from a business requirement.
• Scripting ability in Bash and/or Python.
• Solid understanding of Microsoft Entra ID and Exchange Online.
• Confident working autonomously and leading technical problem resolution.
• Clear communicator who can explain technical decisions to non-technical colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the Jamf Pro environment and act as the SME for macOS.
• L2/L3 escalation point for the IT support queue, resolve complex incidents and perform root cause analysis.
• Plan, design and implement system improvements: gather requirements, write a project plan, design the solution, and deliver it end to end.
• Manage zero touch deployment, configuration profiles, policies, app packaging and patch management across the Apple fleet.
• Develop scripts (Bash/Python) to automate deployment, configuration, remediation and reporting.
• Work with the InfoSec team to assess, design and maintain IT solutions that meet security and compliance standards.
• Provide support for Microsoft 365, Entra ID and Exchange Online.
• Maintain clear technical documentation and uplift the wider support team's Apple capability.
• Mentor junior IT staff and contribute to team planning and continuous improvement.

About the role.

We're looking for a Senior IT Support Engineer to join our IT team, with a strong focus on Jamf device management and macOS. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys owning platforms, solving complex problems, and mentoring others.

You’ll be the most senior Apple voice in the team, the person who takes the tickets nobody else can crack, and who can take a business requirement and turn it into a plan and a design.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the Jamf Pro environment and act as the SME for macOS
• Act as the L2/L3 escalation point for the IT support queue, take on escalated tickets, resolve complex incidents, and perform root cause analysis
• Plan, design and implement system improvements: gather requirements, write a project plan, design the solution, and deliver it end to end
• Manage zero touch deployment, configuration profiles, policies, app packaging and patch management across the Apple fleet
• Develop scripts (Bash/Python) to automate deployment, configuration, remediation and reporting

Requirements

• Based in Adelaide, South Australia
• Australian Citizen (required) and able to obtain and maintain an Australian Government security clearance
• 4-7 years' experience in IT support or systems administration
• Strong hands-on experience with Jamf Pro, Apple Business Manager and macOS
• Demonstrated ability to scope and design a solution from a business requirement, and produce a workable project plan
• Scripting ability in Bash and/or Python
• Solid understanding of Microsoft Entra ID and Exchange Online
• Confident working autonomously and leading technical problem resolution
• Clear communicator who can explain technical decisions to non-technical colleagues

Certifications (Highly Regarded)

• Jamf Certified Tech / Certified Admin / Certified Expert (200/300/400)
• Microsoft SC-900 / SC-300
• ITIL 4 Foundation
• Apple Certified Support Professional
• Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate (MD-102)

Highly Desirable

These are not required for success in the role but would be beneficial.

• Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field
• Networking knowledge and cloud experience
• Experience supporting a predominantly Apple/macOS environment in a scaling organisation
• Experience with automation, endpoint management or infrastructure-as-code practices
