Job summary

DreamIT Host in Geelong is seeking a Senior IT Support Technician to maintain, administer, and provide expert assistance for our hosting infrastructure. You will ensure reliability, performance, and security of services and deliver timely support for escalated issues (L2/L3).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree, or Associate Degree, or Advanced Diploma, or Diploma and one year of experience, or at least four years of relevant experience may substitute for formal qualifications.
• Experience with Linux-based hosting infrastructure and web/mail services.
• Familiarity with control panels such as cPanel/WHM and Plesk.
• Ability to provide escalated L2/L3 technical support and maintain documentation.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux hosting infra (Apache/Nginx, LiteSpeed, MySQL/MariaDB, DNS, FTP, Exim).
• Provide L2/L3 support for complex client issues (websites, email, panels like Cpanel/WHM or Plesk).
• Monitor performance and resolve incidents using monitoring tools.
• Administer hosting panels to ensure stability and ease of use.
• Patch management, SSL lifecycle, firewall config, basic intrusion prevention.
• Support backups and disaster recovery for hosting clients.
• Administer virtual environments.
• Maintain internal docs and client knowledge base.
• Guide on software setup, performance optimization, and secure usage.
• Develop or maintain Bash/Python scripts for automation.
• Evaluate new tools to improve internal systems.
