Senior IT Support Engineer | Sydney | Windows/MacOS, VMWare, Level 1/2 IT Support

One of our great clients is looking for a Senior IT Support Engineer to be a primary contact for IT issues across a 200+ international organisation, while also contributing to the design, implementation, and administration of IT systems and projects aligned with strategic objectives.

Key Objectives

• Handle Level 1 and 2 IT support tickets independently. Deliver effective on-site and remote support.
• Collaborate with Managed Service Providers (MSPs) to ensure consistent service delivery across global time zones.
• Maintain optimal performance of endpoint devices and adopt emerging technologies to improve endpoint management.
• Safeguard endpoint devices against threats and enforce robust security compliance policies.
• Automate repetitive tasks and improve endpoint processes to enhance productivity and cost-efficiency.

Primary Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and manage endpoint devices.
• Ensure compliance with internal IT and security policies.
• Lead software deployment and maintenance on endpoints.
• Diagnose and resolve advanced software/hardware issues.
• Monitor device health and performance.
• Develop and maintain scripts for task automation.
• Document endpoint configurations and procedures.
• Manage software licenses and ensure compliance.
• Apply security policies using tools such as Intune.
• Provide staff training on IT tools and usage.

Required Skills & Experience

• Expert knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems
• Proficiency with endpoint management tools (e.g., Intune, Microsoft Endpoint Manager, SCCM, AD, Entra)
• Strong scripting abilities (PowerShell, Bash, Python)
• Software deployment, lifecycle management, and patching
• Solid understanding of cybersecurity standards and regulatory compliance (e.g., ISO, NIST, GDPR, HIPAA)
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting capabilities
• Familiarity with networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)
• Experience with VMware vSphere, Azure VDI, and virtual infrastructure
