Job summary

NSW Fair Trading in Parramatta is seeking a Senior Investigator Grade: Clerk 7/8 for ongoing, full-time roles. Hybrid work with office attendance 2–3 days per week; base salary $116,981–$129,492 per annum plus superannuation.

You will lead compliance, investigations and enforcement using a risk-based regulatory approach within the Investigations & STRA team, handling STRA Code of Conduct matters and high-risk cases.

Qualifications

• Experience leading investigations in operational/compliance settings.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
• Committed to ongoing professional development and up-to-date investigative techniques.
• Current NSW driver’s licence and willingness to travel within NSW.

Responsibilities

• Lead compliance, investigation and enforcement activities using a risk-based approach.
• Provide specialist compliance advice and assist in developing information materials.
• Prepare evidence and take enforcement action for breaches of the law.
• Maintain detailed records of investigations, inspections, breaches, and outcomes.
• Coordinate intelligence and data to inform operations.
• Prepare reports and presentations for executives and stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
• Guide investigators to support high performance culture.
