Job summary

Building Commission NSW is seeking a Senior Investigator to join the Certifier and Integrity Unit in Parramatta. This ongoing role focuses on investigating misconduct and non‑compliance among registered certifiers and related practitioners, leveraging regulatory powers and evidence gathering to drive outcomes.

The ideal candidate has strong investigative capabilities, building surveying or certification knowledge, and a commitment to professional development within a regulatory environment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in investigations, compliance, audit, enforcement, certification or related field.
• Ability to interpret and apply legislation, policy and technical requirements.
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct end-to-end investigations into the conduct of registered certifiers and other practitioners.
• Gather, analyse and assess evidence to support regulatory decision-making.
• Exercise statutory powers to obtain information, documents and evidence.
• Conduct interviews, obtain statements and prepare briefs of evidence.
• Prepare high-quality reports, recommendations and regulatory outcomes.
• Interpret and apply legislation, policy and technical requirements.
• Provide specialist advice to internal and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to strategic initiatives, continuous improvement and the capability of the team.
