Job summary

AIG Australia Limited is seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to support the Regulatory Remediation Program across Australia. You will deliver independent assurance, risk-based audits and continuous monitoring within the General Insurance International audit team, focusing on governance, risk management and remediation effectiveness.

The role is a 12-month fixed-term contract with potential extension. Strong stakeholder engagement and expertise in APRA/ASIC frameworks are valued as you drive

Qualifications

• Must have demonstrated internal audit capability with risk-based auditing and issue validation.
• Experience in insurance or regulated environments preferred.
• Ability to apply professional scepticism and judgement to complex issues.
• Experience verifying remediation programs and sustainability of improvements.
• Knowledge of APRA/ASIC regulatory frameworks is advantageous.
• Strong written and verbal communication to translate insights.
• Excellent stakeholder management across multiple functions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality internal audit work in accordance with Global Audit Methodology and regulatory expectations.
• Support audit coverage across Australia by assessing governance, risk management, internal controls, and remediation.
• Plan, scope, and execute risk-based audits including walkthroughs, testing, evidence review, and closure verification.
• Support assurance activities related to APRA/ASIC and other regulatory requirements.
• Identify root causes and propose actionable improvements with clear findings.
• Prepare concise audit deliverables and stakeholder updates.
• Engage with senior stakeholders maintaining independence while building relationships.
• Use data analytics to strengthen planning and continuous monitoring.
• Monitor management action plans and validate remediation effectiveness.
• Stay current on regulatory developments and apply them to audits.
