Job summary

AIG Australia is seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to support the Regulatory Remediation Program and provide independent assurance across Australia. You will work within the Internal Audit Group, focusing on governance, risk management and remediation activities, with a view to delivering high-quality insight to the Board and regulators.

The role operates within a 12-month fixed-term contract, with the potential for extension, and requires collaboration with Risk, Compliance, Legal and HR teams.

Qualifications

• Strong internal audit capability with risk-based auditing and reporting.
• Experience in insurance or regulated environments with governance and control expectations.
• Ability to apply professional scepticism and sound judgement to complex issues.
• Experience assessing remediation programs and validating management actions would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality internal audit work in line with Global Audit Methodology and regulatory expectations.
• Assess governance, risk management, internal controls, remediation, and sustainability of outcomes.
• Plan, scope, and execute risk-based audits including walkthroughs, testing, evidence review, and closure verification.
• Support assurance activities for APRA/ASIC and other regulatory requirements.
• Identify root causes, gaps, emerging risks, and provide clear findings with practical actions.
• Prepare concise audit deliverables and updates for stakeholders.
• Engage with senior stakeholders while maintaining independence.
• Use data and analytics to strengthen audit planning and continuous monitoring.
• Monitor management action plans and validate remediation effectiveness.
