Job summary

AECOM is seeking a highly experienced hydraulic design engineer to lead stormwater and drainage design across major WA transport, defence, and energy projects. You will drive technical integrity, oversee modelling, and mentor engineers to deliver practical, buildable solutions.

This role emphasizes client engagement, design governance and contributing to the growth of WA drainage capability within a global infrastructure team.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of post-graduate experience.
• Experience planning, hydraulic assessment and design of stormwater and drainage networks.
• Strong capability in stormwater network hydraulics for underground and surface systems.
• Experience delivering major infrastructure projects in a consulting environment.
• Ability to provide technical leadership, design review and mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Lead hydraulic assessment and design of stormwater and drainage for major projects.
• Provide technical leadership in pit-and-pipe and open channel drainage design.
• Oversee hydrologic/hydraulic modelling and integrate results into designs.
• Review calculations, models, drawings and specifications.
• Mentor and guide developing engineers in the team.
• Support client engagement, work-winning and WA market proposals.
