Job summary

AECOM is seeking a highly experienced hydraulic engineer to lead the stormwater and drainage design for major transport, defence and energy projects in Perth. You will oversee modelling, design reviews and technical governance while mentoring junior engineers and engaging with clients.

Relocation support is available. This is a senior role in a global infrastructure firm offering hybrid work options and opportunities to grow within WA’s significant projects pipeline.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of relevant post-graduate experience.
• Planning, hydraulic assessment and design of stormwater and drainage networks.
• Strong capability in stormwater network hydraulics across underground and surface systems.
• Experience delivering major infrastructure projects in a consulting environment.
• Ability to provide technical leadership, design review and mentoring across a team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including client engagement and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the hydraulic assessment and design of stormwater and drainage for major projects (transport, defence, energy).
• Provide technical leadership in design of drainage networks and related infrastructure.
• Oversee hydrologic and hydraulic modelling and integrate results into design outcomes.
• Review and approve technical calculations, models, reports and specifications.
• Advise on flood risk, drainage strategy and network performance to clients and project teams.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to proposal development in the Perth market.
