Job summary

HorizonOne Recruitment Pty partners with a Commonwealth organisation in Canberra to appoint a Senior People Officer, responsible for complex HR and payroll matters and trusted advisory across the People team.

You will deliver Tier One HR/payroll support, coach APS4 staff, and drive knowledge resources and process improvements while ensuring data integrity within Aurion and related policies. This is a 6-month non-ongoing role with 15.4% super.

Qualifications

• Experience in HR and payroll within complex organisations.
• Ability to coach APS4 team members and develop procedures.
• Strong knowledge of payroll processing, compliance and data integrity.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier One HR and payroll support to employees and managers.
• Manage complex payroll enquiries and ensure accuracy.
• Process payroll transactions including variations and leave.
• Develop knowledge base articles and SOPs.
• Support workload planning and coach APS4 staff.
• Liaise with Aurion support and external stakeholders.
• Maintain records for audit and compliance.
