Job summary

Ambrose Construct Group in Perth is seeking an experienced Senior HR Advisor to provide hands-on HR advisory and operational support across the business. You will partner with leaders to deliver practical people practices and positive employee outcomes.

The role involves advising on performance management, mis­conduct, grievances, and disciplinary processes, while guiding on policies and employment legislation. Travel to Sydney offices on a rotating basis may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or 3+ years of HR experience.
• Experience in HR, Industrial Relations, and/or Employee Relations.
• Experience with modern awards and Australian employment legislation.
• Knowledge of Clerks – Private Sector Award and/or Building and Construction General On-site Award desirable.
• Strong knowledge of Australian employment law and HR practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide HR advisory and operational support across the business.
• Support employee relations matters including performance management, misconduct, grievances, and disciplinary processes.
• Provide practical guidance to leaders on people management, policies, and employment legislation.
• Prepare HR advice, options, and recommendations for review with the GM HR & Organisation Development.
• Assist with contracts and employment condition letters.
• Participate in employee meetings, performance discussions, and other HR-related meetings.
• Respond to queries relating to employment conditions, contracts and HR matters.
• Assist with development and maintenance of employment contracts, policies and procedures.
• Support onboarding and training of new HR team members.
• Facilitate fortnightly employee orientation sessions.
• Support employee engagement and culture initiatives, including surveys and action plans.
• Assist with exit interviews and analysis of employee exit trends.
• Contribute to workforce planning and succession planning activities.
• Assist with HR reporting, trend analysis and identifying areas requiring targeted HR support.
• Support delivery of strategic HR initiatives, including engagement and wellbeing programs.
• Maintain accurate, confidential, and compliant HR records.
• Promote a positive workplace culture and employee experience.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Australian employment legislation and HR best practice.
